3 Automotive Preventative Maintenance Tips
What’s the best ways to maintain your vehicle during the winter season? Here are the best auto care tips to consider during the winter season.
According to an article at ydr.com, “Don’t Neglect Your Vehicle”
“1. Maintenance is key.
“It all comes back to maintenance,” said Kevin Wilcox, who manages the repair shop at Stouch’s Auto Repair & Radiator Shop in York. “I’ve seen cars, which, obviously, in a maintenance perspective, have been neglected for a long time. These cars break down because regular, simple maintenance isn’t being done regularly.”
While some drivers are good about getting the oil changed in their car, they should consider other services, including getting the battery, antifreeze and tire pressure checked, he said.
2. Check the antifreeze.
Wilcox said it’s important to check if your car has sufficient antifreeze, as well as if there is any coolant leaking. He said most shops will replace the antifreeze with what the vehicle manufacturer recommends.
3. Check your tire pressure.
In the cold, Wilcox said, the air pressure in tires tends to go down. Typically, he said, they should be inflated to 35 pounds per square inch.” To read the entire article click here.
